So you want to go natural and don't know where to start? 5 steps to start you on your new journey!

Updated: Mar 12, 2022
Step 1:
Ditch all of the chemicals in your possession! Most if not all of the products we use in our day-to-day self care routine have carcinogens in them. What is a carcinogen you ask? Pronounced: car·cin·o·gen
Dictionary result for carcinogen found on Google
/kärˈsinəjən,ˈkärsənəˌjen/noun plural noun: carcinogens a substance capable of causing cancer in living tissue. If you turn any of your products over and cannot pronounce the ingredient name, then this is usually a dead giveaway. If you are not convinced, then see step 2.
Step 2:
Research! Pull that $500.00+ priced cell phone/computer out and get your money's worth! Grab at least five of your favorite products, sit down at a table and turn over to the ingredients. Pull up your preferred search engine and start typing. If you prefer apps, then go to your app store and type in carcinogens, something should populate. There aren't a lot of apps for this purpose, but I know in my google play store, there are at least three that come up. Which ever you choose to use, type in all of the ingredients and take note on what information is provided. This will assist you in buying with a purpose and beginning to be able to recognize well known carcinogens.
Step 3:
Familiarize yourself with the information. What you will realize, is that it is not that hard to identify known carcinogens. Even though there are a lot of them and they are sometimes hidden or coded in the ingredients, once you start to read what damage they can cause, the information will stick to you like glue. This step will lead you to becoming a conscious consumer. You will no longer buy things just because they smell good or just because the commercial appeals to your demographic, you will be able to make educated choices on the things you choose to use on your body and hair.
Step 4:
Steer clear of any products with words that you cannot pronounce or do not look familiar. Before leaving the store, make sure to turn your products over and look for any words that are hard to pronounce or have letters and numbers in them. This is usually a dead giveaway. This can be crossed checked by typing them into your search engine or app. If you see any negative information when this is done, either take a picture or a mental note so that it serves as reminder of the harmful ingredients.
Step 5:
Plan your store runs. What I like to do is plan my store runs. Make a clear and concise list before you go to the store or shop online and stick to it! Remember when shopping, most if not all of your shopping should be done on the outer circle of the store. Most of, if not all the things in the isles are usually full of preservatives and carcinogens. If you are purchasing hair products, there is usually a all natural section. Whatever you are shopping for, remember to turn over the label and read through the ingredients! Doing this simple step can save you time and money but most importantly, your life.
I hope this helps in your transition and on your journey. Peace, power and healing to you!
