So you want to start fasting? 5 Things that can help your fast be a success!

Updated: Mar 12, 2022
1st: Prepare yourself mentally before your fast. Research. What I like to do is go to YouTube and look up what I type of fast it is that I am seeking to do. You would be surprised at how many different types of fast there are. Take note of what the benefits are and the detoxing symptoms. You want to go into your fast informed and with a positive outlook. That will in turn help you when you want to give up. Me personally, I like water fasting.
2nd: Try to clean up you eating at least one week before you are to start your fast. Eat more veggies or all veggies. If you can't go cold turkey, then incorporate more vegetables into your meals. If you are more of a fruit person, then do this with fruit. You can also substitute one meal or two with a smoothie or fruit/vegetable juice. Another way to approach your fast is to try intermittent fasting. This is the practice of eating between certain hours or just eating once a day.
3rd: Do not go around telling people that you are fasting! Whether it is because you are excited or because you are hoping that someone will align with you on your new journey, this is not a good idea. For some reason, you will get more negative feedback than positive feedback. It will usually will come from the direction of those that have never fasted a day in their life. If you are a person that just needs emotional support, then seek a person that practices fasting and they do it on a consistent basis. Experience is the best teacher.
4th: Prepare. Get the amount of days you intend to fast in distilled gallons of water. Make sure the jug says BPA free. It makes no sense to do a fast with chemical infested water. Remember during a fast to drink at least a gallon of water a day. Also pick up an enema kit. When fasting, you will have fewer bowel movements. It is very important that you are still removing the waste from your body. If you do not do this, your detox symptoms may be more intense. Another reason to do enemas at least twice a day is to help any intestinal parasites that may be dying off due to your fast be removed. If they stay in your body, they may lay eggs or travel to other parts of your body and this can result in serious health issues.
5th: Don't give up! When the doubt shows up, and it will, stay committed. When those cravings surface, and they shall, drink a glass or two of water. Usually, when you think that you are hungry, you are really thirsty. Listen to your body. If you feel tired, get some rest. This is also a part of detoxing. When you are emotional, journal. You want to detail your detox symptoms, whether they be mental, physical or spiritual. Again, stay the coarse. There is no motivation like coming out of a successful fast. The more you do it, the better you get at it. Only then can you speak with confidence, from experience to others about fasting and the benefits of it. Remember, health is the real wealth.
